FAQS?
Many of us have heard people quote 'God loves a cheerful giver' without knowing the full bible verse that this quote comes from: "So let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver" (2 Corinthians 9:7). It is a sad affair that many have the opinion relating to the church's focus; that the church is just after your money. It is important to note that such a church does not have the support of God's Word. The Apostle Paul emphasised this when discussing what a pastor should focus on in 1 Timothy 6: 10 - 12. Even Jesus taught on the focus of his people in Matthew 6: 19 - 20. The purpose of the church is to make known the person of Christ and to build up the immaterial and invaluable - the souls of the people. Some may even be surprised that the bible frequently rebukes those who use their platform to make money of out people like in 2 Peter 1: 1-3. God never desired for any one to feel compelled to give nor for any minister to use their position to compel people to give. Let the person's heart determine whether to give to support the work of God.
