I still have vivid memories of the church. The members were nice enough but that didn't stop us feeling disconnected in the service, probably because we were the only two minorities in attendance. After a time, I qualified for the prize of a Good News Bible and membership to the midweek boys' club. Jacobs, as it was called, was far more interesting with activities such as football, basketball, and the like.
The two years did not pass quickly enough for me and I stopped going there as soon as I could, but could not bring myself to part with the Bible I had been given and found that I could not resist reading it at every given opportunity.
Thus began my love affair with the Word of God and my desire to get to know Him and understand His ways. In due course I openly confessed Jesus as Lord and Saviour some two decades later and became a Christian, but I know in my heart I had already received him somehow, somewhere along the way."

NEW COVENANT CHRISTIAN IS LED BY PASTOR DEREK
“I was 13 years old when my dad announced that my brother and I were being made to go to church. We were not a religious family but my dad insisted that our going to church was non-negotiable for a minimum of two years, after which we would be free to make our own decision.
Dad was a good man, dignified, and full of integrity. He wanted to become a Christian himself because it was a lifestyle that he admired. He tried but found it difficult and in the end he said it was impossible for him as an individual, but he wanted to give us the opportunity while we were still young to achieve what he could not. He went on to become a Christian in his later years.
