FAQS?

It’s not unusual for some people to hear voices. Some people hear more than one voice in their minds and because they have always heard them, it may appear to them to be a normal. Nevertheless it’s not normal and it will impact negatively on the individual causing them to be thought of as having a split personality, schizophrenic or double-mindedness. The Bible tells us that a double-minded man is unstable in all his ways (James 1: 8) and it’s true to say that society does not think of someone who hears voices as being stable. But God has given us one mind. Romans 15:6 says "that ye may with one mind and one mouth glorify God, even the Father of the Lord Jesus Christ".

Voices don’t just manifest; there must be a trigger whether it be a traumatic event, involvement in occult activities, or activities that interfere with the normal functions of the mind, such as drugs. Even certain role-playing games played by children and thought of as harmless can be a trigger that opens the door for voices to be heard.

These voices are really demons. Demons are a complete spiritual personality/body made up of a great number evil spirits. They are highly intelligent beings that think and make decisions. See Mark 5:9, "and he asked him, what is thy name? And he answered saying, my name is Legion: for we are many; and all the devils besought him saying, send us into the swine, that we may enter into them." They are without bodies but their aim is to inhabit a human body and impose their will, and behaviour on the victim, expressing themselves through the human being. The mind, thought process and will can all be accessed by evil spirits. Negative or suicidal feelings, self-harm, addictive behaviour and the hearing of voices are all signs of demonic activity.

Once demons have gained control, the victim soon becomes a mere host for these spiritual entities so that the more control the demons acquire, the less of the person’s true character and nature is evident. The reality being that all that is seen is someone acting out the activities of the unseen evil spirit that is in them.

This is more clearly demonstrated in the scripture above when, asked for his name, the man responds “My name is legion for we are many.” Had he been in his right mind, he would have responded in the singular and given his birth name, not that of a unit that is understood to mean at least 6000 soldiers. When yet another demon-oppressed man cried out to Jesus from the temple in Mark 1:24-25 saying “let us alone! What have we to do with you Jesus of Nazareth do you come to destroy us? I know who you are-the Holy One of God,” it was not the man, but the evil spirit speaking through him, separate from the man. Jesus did not acknowledge it or treat as we do today as schizophrenia he simply cast it out. Anyone suffering with this problem should seek a deliverance ministry.
